Job Description

As Product Manager Lubricants, you own the industrial lubricants category and driveWilmar’snatural‑origin portfolio (including fatty acids, glycerine, alcohols and esters) into prioritysubsegments (e.g., transformer fluids, greases). You blend strategic product management (P&L, pricing, portfolio direction, R&D interface) with business development to positionbiobased solutions and win share across Europe. You join a dynamic, expanding European team and report to the Head of Business Development, collaborating closely with Sales and R&D to ensure technical and commercial excellence.

  • Strategy & Market Growth: Define and execute the European strategy for industrial lubricants; expand market share and profitability with clear objectives and milestones.
  • Portfolio Introduction & Segmentation: Map opportunities and introduce Wilmar’s natural‑origin ingredients across lubricant submarkets; align portfolio to customer specifications and performance needs.
  • Commercial Activation: Support Account Managers in customer meetings and technical evaluations; represent Wilmar at exhibitions, conferences and industry events across the EU.
  • Forecasting & Pricing: Maintain robust sales forecasts (volume, penetration, margin); own category P&L and pricing frameworks to ensure competitive, profitable growth.
  • R&D Interface: Translate market trends and benchmarks into concrete requirements; guide mid‑ and long‑term product development with data‑driven insights.
  • Regulatory & Trend Monitoring: Track EU regulations and technology developments; proactively update stakeholders to safeguard compliance and relevance.
  • QHSE & Compliance: Contribute to HACCP, GMP+, ADR and Seveso requirements, reinforcing safety, quality and sustainability standards.
The Successful Applicant

You combine commercial drive with technical understanding and the ability to translate product capabilities into compelling value propositions for industrial customers.

  • Experience: 5-10 years in industrial lubricants (non‑automotive) with proven exposure to technical sales/product management.
  • Background: Technical (e.g., Chemical Engineering) or Business/Commercial; one of the two is essential for success. MSc in Chemical Engineering/Agricultural Science is a plus.
  • Skills: Value‑based selling, stakeholder management, forecasting, pricing, category ownership; proficiency with MS Office and CRM.
  • Mindset: Entrepreneurial, self‑starting, strategic and opportunity‑driven; confident operating in a fast‑scaling environment.
  • Languages: Fluent English; additional European languages are a plus.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel across the EU.

This role is strictly based in Rotterdam due to its central role in Wilmar’s European operations and the need for strong in‑person cross-functional cooperation. Remote working from other countries is not considered.
